המנצח רוּבֶּן גזריאן נבחר למנהל המוזיקלי החדש של התזמורת הקאמרית הישראלית
על הישגיו של גָזָריאן (Gazarian) כמנצח וכמנהל מוזיקלי תעיד הרשימה המרשימה של התזמורות שעבד איתן בעבר ובהווה. גזריאן נבחר לתפקידו פה אחד על ידי הוועד המנהל של התזמורת בתמיכה גורפת של הנגנים בעקבות קונצרט שביצע עם התזמורת בחודש מרץ השנה. הוא ייכנס לתפקידו בעונת הקונצרטים 2025-2024. יו"ר הוועד המנהל של התזמורת, מר משה נאמן, אמר על הבחירה: "אנו מאושרים על כך שמי שהגיע לאחד המקומות הראשונים בתחרות המנצחים ע"ש גאורג שולטי, תחרות שמיסד התזמורת שלנו, מאסטרו גארי ברתיני, נמנה עם שופטיה, וניהל במשך 16 שנים את התזמורת הקאמרית של וירטמברג בגרמניה, יוביל את התזמורת הקאמרית הישראלית לעתיד של תהילה".
רוּבֶּן גזריאן, יליד ארמניה המתגורר בגרמניה, מכהן כמנהל המוזיקלי של תיאטרון אלטנבורג גֶרה בגרמניה החל בעונת הקונצרטים 2021-2020, וכמנצח אורח ראשי של התזמורת הקאמרית הלאומית של ארמניה מאז מרץ 2023. במשך 16 שנים (2018-2002) היה המנהל האמנותי והמנצח הראשי של התזמורת הקאמרית של וירטמברג היילברון, עימה הופיע ביותר מ-860 קונצרטים והקליט 26 תקליטורים. במהלך השנים האלה העשיר גזריאן את רפרטואר התזמורת והרחיב את פעילותה ואת הרפרטואר שלה, בין היתר בבחירת יצירות בהיקף סימפוני מן התקופה הרומנטית וכן יצירות מודרניות ואף אוונגרדיות. כהוקרה על הישגיו הוענקה לו מדליית "מטבע הזהב" של העיר. במקביל כיהן כמנצח הראשי והמנהל האמנותי של התזמורת הקאמרית הגיאורגית באינגולשטדט (2020-2014). גזריאן הופיע כמנצח אורח עם תזמורות ידועות, בהן הסימפונית של רדיו שטוטגרט, הסימפונית של קלן, הסימפונית של רדיו פרנקפורט, הסימפונית של המבורג, תזמורת התיאטרון הלאומי של קאסל, הסימפונית של ברלין, תזמורת האופרה של פרנקפורט, התזמורת הממלכתית של הסן, הפילהרמונית של צפון-מערב גרמניה, התזמורת הלאומית של ליון, הסימפונית ירושלים, הסימפונית חיפה, הסימפונית ראשון לציון, הפילהרמונית של ורוצלב, הפילהרמונית של בלגרד, הקאמרית של ציריך ועוד, והקליט לכל תחנות הרדיו הגרמניות וכן לרדיו שווייץ האיטלקית, לרדיו צרפת, לרדיו דנמרק ועוד. הוא שיתף פעולה עם מוזיקאים נודעים, בהם חטיה בוניאטישווילי, גוטייה ורנו קפוסון, ג'וליה פישר, הילרי האן, קטיה ומריאל לבק, אליזבת לאונסקיה, סבינה מאייר, ויקטוריה מוּלובה, סרגיי נקריאקוב, גרהרד אופיץ, פזיל סאי, ז'אן-איב תיבודה, עמנואל צ'קנבוריאן, פרנק פטר צימרמן, שלישיית בוזאר, רביעיית הגוואנדהאוס ורבים אחרים. הדיסקוגרפיה העשירה שלו מן השנים האחרונות מעידה על היקף הרפרטואר שלו ועל איכות פרשנויותיו, תוצאה של עבודת חזרות קפדנית, הבנה רגשית עמוקה ושליטה במגוון רחב של תקופות וסגנונות.
המנצח רובן גזריאן אמר בתגובה על הבשורה: "בישראל אני נהנה כבר שנים משיתוף פעולה מוזיקלי נפלא עם כמה תזמורות, ויש לי זיכרונות רבים מקונצרטים מחממי לב וממפגשים אנושיים. לכן אני שמח עוד יותר שהתמניתי לתפקיד המנצח הראשי והמנהל האמנותי של התזמורת הקאמרית הישראלית החל בעונה הבאה. הכרנו רק לפני כמה שבועות, וכבר ביום הראשון של החזרות אפשר היה להרגיש עד כמה הכימיה והתקשורת המוזיקלית והאנושית בינינו היו מיד מצוינות. החזרות האינטנסיביות, שני ערבי הקונצרטים בתל-אביב, האחדות הכללית המדהימה וההרמוניה ההדדית שהתפתחה בזמן כה קצר נותנים לי את כל הסיבות לצפות לשיתוף פעולה מבטיח ולרגעי שיא מוזיקליים נוספים בעתיד!"
Ruben Gazarian was chosen as the new Principal Chief Conductor and Musical Director of the Israel Chamber Orchestra. He will assume this position in the 2024-2025 concert season. The orchestra's board chairman, Moshe Neeman, stated that Gazarian is well-known today as an intellectual musical force, innovative, influential, and a central figure in the world of music. "We are proud and happy that Gazarian, who was among the winners of the Georg Solti conducting competition (amongst the jury was Maestro Gary Bertini - founder of the Israel Chamber Orchestra) and serves as General Music Director of the Altenburg-Gera Theatre in Germany.
Gazarian, who successfully led the Württemberg Chamber Orchestra Heilbronn in Germany for 16 years, served before as Principal Chief Conductor of the West Saxon Symphony Orchestra (now: Leipzig Symphony Orchestra) and served as Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Georgian Chamber Orchestra Ingolstadt, will come to conduct our chamber orchestra”
It was further stated that Gazarian was selected for his role here by the board after receiving overwhelming endorsements from the orchestra's musicians, who had a fruitful collaboration with him in concerts performed under his direction in March of this year. "Gazarian, who lives and breathes music with every fiber of his being, will bring authentic performances and true interpretations with insight, great courage, and inner strength to music from all periods and genres and will provide inspiration to the orchestra and the audience," Neeman added.
Ruben Gazarian, born in Armenia and residing in Germany, has numerous impressive achievements to his name: including almost two thousand concerts and dozens of recordings covering a wide range of styles and expressive forms that have captivated large audiences and even earned him the "Golden Coin" award from the city of Heilbronn.
As guest conductor Ruben Gazarian has directed such renowned orchestras such as SWR-Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart; WDR-Symphony Orchestra Cologne; Hessian State Orchestra Wiesbaden; Frankfurt Opera Orchestra; Orchestre National de Lyon; Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra; Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Camerata Jerusalem Orchestra, Haifa Symphony Orchestra, Rishon LeZion Symphony Orchestra and many others.
Among the well-known musicians he has collaborated with are - Katia and Marielle Labèque, Hilary Hahn, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Sabine Meyer, Viktoria Mullova, Sergei Nakariakov, Gerhard Oppitz, Fazıl Say, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Frank Peter Zimmermann, the Beaux Arts Trio (with Menahem Pressler, Daniel Hope and Antonio Meneses), the Gewandhaus Quartet, and many others.
His rich discography in recent years testifies to the extensive scope and rich variety of his repertoire. It also demonstrates his originality, high quality, and daring musical interpretations. Artists who collaborate with him praise his broad musical education, his meticulous rehearsal work, layer upon layer, his deep emotional understanding of color, sound, and aesthetics, his connection to the Western musical heritage but also to the spirit of the times, his belief in humanity and the human experience. According to testimonies, not only is he fascinating and captivating to work with, but they also receive genuine respect, caring, and warmth from him.
In response to the news, Ruben Gazarian said, " Israel is a country where I have enjoyed wonderful musical collaborations with several orchestras for many years, with numerous heart-warming concert memories and human encounters.
Thus, I am all the more delighted to have been appointed Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Israel Chamber Orchestra, starting next season. We only recently got to know each other and during the first days of rehearsals the chemistry plus the musical and human communication between us was immediately felt and perfect. The intense rehearsals, the two concert evenings in Tel Aviv, the amazing overall unity and the mutual harmony that has developed in such a short time, gives me every reason to look forward to a promising collaboration and many musical highlights in the future!"
